   With about 600 software companies with a combined turnover of 100 million USD in 2003 and outsourcing cost at only a half the price of China, U.S. companies are finding that Viet Nam is a destination worth considering.
  
   The industry is maturing rapidly. For example, one local company has become the first software company in VietNam to achieve CMMI Level 5, the highest level in the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI). The achievement of CMMI Level 5 places the company amongst an elite group of software companies in the world to have attained this level. This company and others are ready and able to provides outsourcing and consulting software solutions for software companies in the U.S., Europe, and Japan.
  
   Today at Quang Trung Software City in suburban Saigon, 1,500 IT workers from 65 software companies, of which 32 are 100% foreign-invested, are in full operation, and the software city is the cornerstone of Vietnam’s software industry. Reed Schrichte of Reed Global Access Inc. has over 20 years of IT experience in the U.S. at companies such as IBM. Sun. MCI, and the U.S. Dept of the Interior. He has managed software projects for U.S. clients in VietNam, and will personally vouch whole-heartedly for the motivation, skill-level, and quality of output of the Vietnamese IT workforce.
